Social Media Etiquette

Image
Basically, social media etiquette is set of social conventional rules of personal and business behavior online. It dictates how people conduct themselves on social media so they remain respectful and respectable.  Having a history of respectfulness on social media is important for getting future jobs. Before getting hired, most jobs do a background check, and that includes anything from social media that they can find. It doesn't look good if you have any type of negative issues on social media.

In Chapter 4 of The Connected Educator, authors  Sheryl Nussbaum-Beach and Lani Ritter Hall explore  how building a collaborative culture and a mindset supports connected learning. They start off by acknowledging that collaboration is sometimes a difficult concept in traditional environments. However, in creating connected learning,  Nussbaum-Beach and Hall say that the focus is on culture and the importance of shared ideals. Culture is based on values, norms, and beliefs. The most important part is asking what you want to accomplish and setting goals. To begin, one should choose a tool and think about the outcomes and what you'd want to use the tool for. As a college student, I use blogs for my coursework and this is an example of the many tools to choose from. In my future profession as an accountant, writing and posting blogs could boost my credibility. Constantly writing articles that educate peers and business owners or inform them about important tax and accounting news/ updates will help establish myself as a valuable and useful source.
